MAIZE IN UGANDA

                                  MAIZE IN UGANDA. M aize is a cereal grown crop rich in starch commonly known as corn. Maize is one of the major staple foods in Uganda providing 40% of  Uganda's daily calorie intake. There is an increase in maize production in Uganda due to the change in consumption patterns, today we see a progression from being an entire subsistence crop to becoming commercial.             CLASSIFICATION OF MAIZE.   Maize is scientifically known as  Zea Mays however , there are many forms of maize used as food in relation to the amount of starch each has. These are referred to as subspecies     Taxonomy of maize.
